Northern Exchange is an on-going series of particpatory events and projects designed to collect memories of the Cold War on both sides of the former Iron Curtain in the northern and Arctic region. The triangle forms the basis of the vehicle for recording people's recollections about the past but also their thoughts on the present predictions of another Cold War and our nuclear futures. To date we have collected material in different languages including English, Finnish, Russian and Japanese from people located in North America, Russia, Scotland and Shetland. We have recorded interviews and displayed the triangles in various forms through our socially engaged art projects. Click on the images below to see where we have taken Northern Exchange.
