Signs 1
Before coming to Iceland we read that tourists were stealing the road signs. We have found wonderful signs everywhere. We promise to just photograph them not abduct them!

Going to the Moon......
Today we drove around Keflavik looking for the former Naval Air Base. It turned out that the Start Hostel is located in it, so we should have gone there first! You could find out a bit about the Naval Air Base here:


Rad-Dome
A grey moon rises over Bolafjall, a mushroom in a nest of mottled cloud, or a patched football ready to bounce, down and down, and splash into the waiting sea. Very Sad to Depart Vestfirðir
We've all left Vestfirðir, aside from the teachers who live there. The return drive to Reykjavik was over 500 km. We saw some stunning scenery and experienced some unique moments. Here's some photos to begin a record of that journey.

Vestfirðir
We´re way behind with our Blog because we have been having such a busy time. We arrived Sunday evening, 6th August. The landscape experience of our journey was sublime. We´re going to post more photos from our days here soon, but for now here are a few to get started.

It's been very interesting chatting to people about their memories and finding out about lots of incidental stories and details about the building of the radar station...
